Jonathan established New Horizons House in 2013 to provide holistic restoration for girls rescued from human trafficking and sexual abuse in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Currently, the residential facility provides medical care, trauma counseling, educational opportunities and vocational training to more than 50 girls aged 12-21.
Prior to founding New Horizons, Mr. Spencer served on the Board of Eternal Threads (Abilene, TX) from 2006 – 2009 and on the Board of Dry Bones Denver (Denver, CO) from 2009 – 2014. From 2010 – 2013 Jonathan served as Chief Operating Officer for Healing Waters International (Golden, CO), an organization dedicated to providing safe water solutions in poverty-stricken communities around the globe. In addition, from 2005 – 2011 he served as the Deacon of Missions for the Lakewood Church of Christ (Lakewood, CO) where he coordinated various teams involved in international development and community outreach projects.
Mr. Spencer is an honors graduate from Allegheny College (Meadville, PA) and subsequently received an M.S. degree in Environmental Systems Engineering from Clemson University (Clemson, SC). He is a licensed professional engineer and a recipient of the Danforth Leadership Award.
