Russell G. Wilson is a nationally recognized expert in human trafficking prevention, integrating lived experience as a survivor with a career devoted to systems change. He holds dual B.A.s in Anthropology and South & Southeast Asian Studies from UC Berkeley, where he began merging academic rigor with personal truth. As a Ronald E. McNair Scholar, he conducted research in Cambodia on resilience among male survivors, later expanding his work in Indonesia through the UC Berkeley Institute of International Studies Merit Scholarship and the Benjamin Gilman Scholarship. Russell is a former Human Trafficking Leadership Academy Fellow with the National Human Trafficking Training and Technical Assistance Center, contributing to federal definitions of “Survivor-Informed” practice. He has since trained thousands of professionals, advised state and federal agencies, and co-developed pioneering curricula on male survivors and generational trauma. Russell brings authenticity, insight, and a rare blend of lived and learned expertise to every space he enters.
