Dr. Chris Blocker

Dr. Chris P. Blocker is a faculty member at the Colorado State University College of Business. His research explores insights for creating economic and social value in services, sales, and society, specifically asking how we can use emerging insights about value to design better experiences and promote growth and well-being. He frequently collaborates with for-profit, non-profit, and social enterprise organizations to understand their customers, develop compelling value propositions, and craft resonant strategies.

Dr. Blocker’s research has been published in 30+ premier and leading journals, including the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Harvard Business Review, and Journal of Consumer Psychology. Some of his recent work examines how organizations can address scarcity among employees and customers, as well as become more purpose-oriented. In the classroom, his teaching focuses on helping undergraduates and MBAs apply Design Thinking, Innovation, Sustainability, and Cross-Cultural Marketing. Prior to working in academia, he worked in marketing and global account management with Sprint and AT&T before completing his Ph.D. at the University of Tennessee.
