Brooke is an educator and researcher dedicated to equity, community empowerment, and culturally responsive and trauma-informed education. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s degree in Science Education from Minnesota State University, and a Ph.D. in Education, Equity, and Transformation from Colorado State University.
Her research focuses on human trafficking prevention and awareness education for youth, with a particular interest in how schools and community-based programs can equip young people with the knowledge and critical awareness needed to recognize exploitation and protect themselves and their communities. Brooke is a 5th-grade teacher at a public charter school in Aurora, Colorado.
In addition, she works as an English teacher for multilingual adults in the Aurora community. Through both her research and teaching, she is committed to creating educational spaces that promote equity, awareness, and transformative learning for diverse communities.
