These are the terms and conditions (the “agreement”) governing your participation in the virtual 2022 Northern Colorado Human Trafficking Symposium (the “Virtual Symposium”). By registering for the Virtual Symposium, you agree to these terms which form a binding legal contract between the Virtual Symposium organizers and the registered participant (“you”). If you are registering on behalf of another individual, it is your responsibility to ensure the person participating is aware of these terms and accepts them. By completing the registration on behalf of another individual, you are warranting that you have made the Participant aware of these terms and that they have accepted these terms.
Participation requirements: Your registration entitles you access to the virtual event for which you have registered. Any and all other costs associated with your attendance shall be borne solely by you, and the virtual event shall have no liability for such costs. There will be no registration cancellation refunds.
Use of likeness: By participating in the Virtual Event, you acknowledge and agree to grant the Virtual Symposium the right at the Symposium to record, film, live stream, photograph, or capture your likeness in any media now available or hereafter developed and to distribute, broadcast, use, or otherwise globally disseminate, in perpetuity, such media without further approval from you or any payment to you. This grant to the Virtual Symposium includes, but is not limited to, the right to edit such media, the right to use the media alone or together with other information, and the right to allow others to use or disseminate the media. The Virtual Symposium will retain the exclusive right, title and interest (including all worldwide copyrights) to any such recordings, free of any claims by you or any other person deriving any rights or interest from you.
Virtual Symposium Content: You acknowledge and agree that the Virtual Symposium, in its sole discretion reserves the right to change any and all aspects of the Virtual Symposium, including but not limited to the Virtual Symposium name, themes, content, program, speakers, performers, hosts, moderators, venue and time. Some sessions of the Virtual Symposium may be recorded.
Prohibited Conduct: By registering for the Virtual Symposium, you agree not to sell, trade, transfer, or share your access link and/or code, regardless of whether this is complimentary or paid for, unless such transfer is granted by the Organizer. You also agree to not record, livestream, or photograph any participant/sessions. If the Virtual Symposium determines that you have violated this policy, the Virtual Symposium may cancel your access, retain any payments made you, report you to law enforcement authorities and ban you from future Virtual Symposium events.
Disruptive Conduct: You acknowledge and agree that the Virtual Symposium reserves the right to remove you from the Virtual Symposium if the Symposium organizers, in their sole discretion, determine that your participation or behavior create a disruption or hinder the Virtual Symposium or the enjoyment of the Virtual Symposium content by other attendees.
You are expected to behave in a considerate, respectful, and collaborative manner towards all individuals participating in, or providing services, for the Symposium and all associated events you participate in. As such, you shall refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech, and be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants. Please alert the Symposium if you notice a disruptive situation or someone in distress. Additionally, please be sure to keep your cameras on (not enforced) and mics off (required), unless engaging in group discussion that the Session Host is facilitating, in any session you attend at the Virtual Symposium.
The Symposium Organizers are committed to making the Virtual Symposium as inclusive as possible for all of our members, attendees, sponsors, partners, vendors, guests and all others (collectively “Participants”) in attendance, regardless of a person’s race, religion, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, gender or gender identity, or otherwise. The Virtual Symposium and its Organizers are committed to providing a safe and harassment free environment that is free of fear, intimidation, or ridicule. To achieve these goals, the Virtual Symposium does not and will not tolerate harassment of, or hostile behavior towards, any Participant in any form or manner.
Recording, Live Streaming and Videotaping: Participants may not record or broadcast audio or video of any session or part of a session at the Virtual Symposium event and associated sessions.
Unethical/non-compliant practices: The Virtual Symposium reserves the right to deny participation to anyone who engages in or is reputed to engage in unethical or non-compliant business practices.
In addition to the requirements and prohibition set forth above, the Symposium organizers may also exclude any prospective participant from registering for or participating in any or all aspects of the Virtual Symposium.
Fees and registration: The payment of the Virtual Symposium is due upon registration. If such payment is insufficient or declined for any reason, the Symposium Organizers may refuse to allow you to access the Virtual Symposium and shall have no liability in that regard. The fees may be subject to sales tax, value added tax, or other taxes and duties, which, if applicable, will be charged to you in addition to the fees.
Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability: The Virtual Symposium gives no warranties in respect of any aspect of the Virtual Symposium or any materials related thereto or offered at the Virtual Symposium, and disclaims all implied warranties, including but not limited to warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, timeliness and merchantability. The views, opinions, and positions expressed by the speakers, attendees, or sponsors at the Virtual Symposium are theirs alone and do not necessarily reflect the views, opinions or positions of the Virtual Symposium or any employee thereof. The Virtual Symposium makes no representation as to accuracy, completeness, timeliness, suitability, or validity of any information presented by speakers, attendees, or sponsors, at the Virtual Symposium, and will not be liable for any errors, omissions, or delays in this information or losses, injuries or damages arising from its display or use. The Virtual Symposium does not endorse, and expressly disclaims all liability relating to, any of the products or services provided by speakers, attendees, or sponsors.
If the virtual Symposium management’s or leadership’s, in its sole discretion, finds that you have engaged in any conduct that is in violation of these Terms and Conditions then, you may, at their sole discretion, be expelled from the Symposium with no refund of your paid registration fees and any other fees you paid to participate in the Symposium, and/or disqualified from attending or participating in any future symposia.
As a condition of your attendance at the conference, you, Registrant expressly assume all responsibility, liability and risk associated with, resulting from or arising in connection with your attendance or participation at the Symposium. Additionally, you, Registrant, agree that in no event will the Virtual Symposium, or its leadership or management be liable for any consequential, indirect, special, punitive or incidental damages of any nature or for any reason whatsoever whether or not apprised of the possibility of any such lost profits or damages.
As a condition of your attendance at the Symposium, you, Registrant, agree that any and all matters, compliance issues or questions not specifically covered or addressed in these Terms and Conditions will be subject solely to the decision and determination of the Virtual Symposium. The Virtual Symposium will have full power in any matter of interpretation, amendment and enforcement of these Terms and Conditions, and as amended, as it deems necessary for the general success of the Symposium, and in all instances the Symposium Organizer’s decisions and such rulings will be final.
As a condition of your attendance at the Conference, you, Registrant, acknowledge and agree you have read and fully understand the Terms and Conditions, as set forth above. By acknowledging your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, below, you knowingly, voluntarily, and without duress, hereby agree to be bound and abide by the Terms and Condition for the Virtual Symposium.
