Abstract
Human trafficking, also known as modern-day slavery, is a widely discussed criminal enterprise, but one that is not deeply understood. This presentation will consider research gaps through the lens of a five āPā trauma and survivor-informed model for combatting human trafficking: Prevention, Protection, Prosecution, Partnership, and Policy. The role of collaborative research that supports assessment and accountability over aspiration and awareness will be a thread through all five areas. Additionally, this presentation will argue for an interdisciplinary research approach that mirrors a practitioner-enhanced collaborative model.
